About the Experience
The royal water gardens of Tirta Gangga, reached before the coaches arrive and the pools are still.
Tirta Gangga was built by the last king of Karangasem, a garden of pools, fountains and stone statues fed by a sacred spring. It is twenty minutes up the road from the resort.
We arrive as the gates open, so you can cross the stepping stones and see the koi ponds while the garden is quiet. Your guide explains the history and the meaning of the carvings.
On the way back we stop at a small village temple, where sarongs are provided.
